Mad Max: Fury Road is the fourth installment
in the Mad Max franchise, produced 30 years after the first film was released.
The movie is set in a post-apocalyptic future when Earth becomes a desert
wasteland following a nuclear war. This situation creates an environment where
everyone is fighting for resources like water and gasoline and sets the scene
for two rebels to join forces to fight the regime installed by Immortan Joe,
the primary antagonist in the movie. Skillfully portrayed by Hugh Keays-Byrne,
Immortan Joe is the Lord of The Citadel, a cluster of rock towers that sits
above an aquifer of fresh water known as Aqua Cola. Joe is also the leader of
the fanatical War Boys which act as the paramilitary arm of the Citadel and
Joe’s personal servants and soldiers.
The two rebels, Max and Furiosa,
so skillfully played by Tom Hardy and CharlizeTheron, give the movie that

The
film premiered in May 2015 and grossed more than of $317.9 million against
a budget of $150 million. It also received widespread acclaim and critics were
quick to praise the film in all departments including acting, screenplay,
choreography, humor and general direction.
The movie was mostly filmed in the Namib Desert which is a
coastal desert in southern Africa. Several shots were also taken at Potts Hill
and Pentrith Lakes in Western Sydney.
